London, United Kingdom, 13 November 2013 – Sony Digital Cinema today announced that it is supporting the 2013 Cork Film Festival in Ireland. Attendees from across the country are invited to view a variety of content on Sony’s 4K digital cinema SRX-R515 projector from up until Sunday 17th November.

The SRX-R515 will be installed by GFD in the Cork Opera House where festival-goers can watch screenings of old classics that have been re-mastered such as Apocalypse Now, Night Train to Lisbon, All is Lost, The Blues Brothers and many more. Sony Digital Cinema is giving attendees the chance to enjoy superior picture quality by creating the ultimate viewing experience.

Tim Potter, Digital Cinema Solutions Account Manager, Sony Europe, said: “We were delighted when we were approached by The Cork Film Festival to deliver some of the main screenings on Sony 4K. The fact the organisers wanted to use the SRX-R515 reflects the importance of picture quality in the audience’s experience of a film as the projector uses the highest contrast ratios in cinema and for 4K either delivers the detail native or cleverly up scales the image. With Sony 4K, viewers benefit from being able to see the films how the directors intended.”

The Cork Film Festival is on until Sunday 17th November. To find out more, please visit: http://www.corkfilmfest.org/
