For the twelfth time, ever since the company’s beginning, Alcons Audio will be present at the CineEurope cinema convention, taking place from June 16 to 19 in Barcelona, Spain.
The Dutch company will not only be present on the tradeshow floor, but will also participate in the ICTA Manufacturer’s Presentations on the Sunday before the show. Alcons willagain join forces with Sony Europe in demonstrating the latest in cinema picture and sound.
High dynamic range, low distortion, shallow form factors and well defined coverage capabilities are all hallmarks of Alcons sound systems. As one of the most-innovative cinema sound manufacturers, Alcons Audio will bring a host of new sound developments.
Previewed last year, the CRMSCompact , the compact version of Alcons’ Cinema Reference Monitor System, will be on show this year in its production guise. The system is developed as compact reference monitoring for post-production studios, screening rooms and residential home-cinemas. The CRMSCompact maintains Alcons’ renowned reference sound quality of the CRMS, as installed at Lucasfilm and Deluxe screening rooms, but than in a more compact form factor for smaller rooms.
The new CRS12 reference pro-ribbon surround will be presented; As the larger brother of the CRS8 medium-format reference surround, the CRS12 brings pro-ribbon surround experience to larger theaters. By utilizing identical MHF components as featured in Alcons’ Digital Cinema screen systems, a unique voicing matching between screen- and surround system is realized, resulting in an exceptionally wide and uniform sound stage throughout the entire listening area.
The new CRS12GT/60 is developed as high-output surround system located closest to the screen channels in immersive surround systems,
With a 60° horizontal by 30° vertical dispersion, in combination with the 10-degree slanted baffle and the trapezoidal cabinet shape, the CRS12GT/60 enables a very precise projection on the critical listening area, while preventing wall/ceiling reflections.
The CB211sl is a direct-radiating slim subwoofer system for demanding cinema applications, delivering tight and accurate bass and sub response with very low distortion. The 21” vented transducer configuration with a 13”/33cm system depth is usable as main subwoofer system behind the screen, or as wall-mounted rear subwoofer system in immersive surround systems.
Also on show will be the CR3 medium-sized 3-way pro-ribbon screen system, and the
Sentinel multi-channel amplified loudspeaker controllers. Featuring a 400MHz Analog Devices SHARC™ DSP processor with 4 individual patent-pending Class D amplifier stages, the powerful Sentinel units feature 192kHz capable AES digital inputs, audiophile-grade amplifier stages, and all-digital signal control and processing.
With daily demonstrations, visitors can convince themselves of the Alcons pro-ribbon sound quality at Sony Europe’s demoroom, room 133, level 1.
