Box-office hits will propel Q3 results

Although the third quarter is normally a slow period for cinemas, analysts expect Major Cineplex (MAJOR) to report record earnings driven by strong box office revenue and a positive performance by its other businesses. Tisco Securities expects Major to post a strong net profit of 148 million baht, which would represent growth of 27% from the second quarter and 111% from the same period a year ago.
